Welcome to the 2011 Florida Democratic State Convention webpage.
As you know, Florida now stands at a crossroads. We are faced with an out-of-control Republican led Legislature that is determined to press forward with a job killing, right-wing agenda despite the adverse impact on the middle class and Florida’s economy. At the helm, we have a Tea Party Governor who is wholly out of touch with our state. Faced with an uphill climb, Democrats are more determined than ever to fight back and stop this right-wing agenda from sweeping Florida.
With 29 crucial electoral votes, Florida is the most important swing state in the country. With your help, we will re-elect President Obama, Senator Nelson and send some great Democrats to Congress to join our Democratic Delegation. This year’s State Convention is exactly what we need to harness our collective enthusiasm and focus on electing Democrats in 2012.
This webpage will serve as a central hub for information regarding the State Convention, so check it often for updates on the schedule, speakers, meals and everything else you’ll need to know before you arrive.
Basic Information
The Florida Democratic Party State Convention will be held Friday, October 28, 2011 – Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Convention Center at 4600 North World Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830.
Please contact Disney’s main reservations line to make your reservations at (407) 824-3869 as soon as possible. The Party’s room block at the Contemporary Resort is now open and provides a rate of $199/per night + tax. We were also fortunate enough to secure a few discounted rooms at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort which is located a few blocks from the Contemporary Resort at a rate of $79 to $139/per night + tax. The discounted rooms are limited and you will need to provide your own transportation to and from the Contemporary Resort for meetings.
