BLACK HISTORY MONTH EVENT!

NAACP will be sponsoring a Musical Extravaganza on February 25 at 6:00 p.m. at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 909 E. 8th Street

 

DEMOCRATIC TRAINING OPPORTUNITY – Franklin County DEC

Strategic training workshop in Democratic Community Outreach, all Democrats are welcomed to participate.

  • The training will take place on Saturday, March 25, from 10:00am EASTERN TIME until 3:00pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church (100 Avenue E, the corner of Hwy 98 and 8th Street, Apalachicola). The training will be conducted by Alison Morano from the State of Florida Democratic Party. Lunch will be served, and each participant will receive a Democratic Executive Committee handbook.
  • Participants are required to register by March 15 via email to Carol Barfield at Franklin.dec@gmail.com.
  • (Seating is limited so please register before March 15.)

Democrats from surrounding counties as well as Franklin County will be invited to participate in this training session.

Participants will donate a fee of $10.

At the end of the training session, each County and their participants can hold a break out session while Ms. Morano is present.

2017 Black History Month Proclamation

Panama City Mayor Greg Brudnicki signed the Proclamation of 2017 Black History Month on January 31, 2017. 

February 2017 marks the 91st anniversary of the observation in the United States of Black History Month, a national effort to accord official recognition to the heritage of African Americans and the many contributions made to the development of America and the American way of life.
